Saints As Good As Promoted

Sadly it has come at the expense of Plymouth who after giving us a hard time for 44 minutes ended up losing their fight to stay up.

Southampton have had two years in the third tier of football and for many of our fans it has been a great experience.

We have learned how to love winning again which when we were in administration looked at times like we were going to have to live without.

Such was our plight that it looked as if we might even stop existing, things were in such dire straights.

Now two years later we are returning to the Championship and are on an upward curve which hopefully will see us regain Premiership status in the next few years.

One step at a time and the pity is that Markus is not here to see it. He enjoyed our Wembley trip last season and would have been one very emotional man seeing us get to the first of his targets.

Nicola is here though, and how we love him, in much the same vein as we did and still do Markus. Thank you both and now we have to look forward and start planning ready for the new season.

Congratulations, Saints!
herringthorpe
Thanks Herringthorpe, must admit it is good to know barring a great big collapse and miraculous turnaround on Saturday(which won't happen) we will be back in the Championship next season.
