Huddersfield Boss Praises Southampton

Huddersfield Boss Praises Southampton

Though it would be possible for the Terriers to swap places if they could manage an 18 goal swing in our final game, he has admitted that this thought is ludicrous.

Saints would have to lose by a lot with the Terriers winning by enough to manage the feat and he concedes that this just will not happen.

Huddersfield pushed us all the way to the line and compiled an unbeaten run of 24 games in doing so.

Admitting defeat in the quest for the second automatic spot Lee said,"Congratulations to Southampton because, like ourselves, they have been on a magnificent run and have won games when it mattered,"

Huddersfield will meet either Bournemouth or the MK Dons in the p[lay-off semi-finals as they try to make it to the Championship the hard way.

I found this comment from Clarke a very refreshing change from some that have come from the likes of Gus Poyet.

Thanks Lee for those kind words and I raise my hat to you in a token of respect. You are a gentleman and I hope that you and your team get your due reward in the play-offs.

Totally agree. I don't think we'd have maintained that sort of form without Huddersfield pushing as hard as they did. While I'd like to see Bournemouth promoted I think Huddersfield really deserve it

Well done Saints on your promotion. Gutted for Huddersfield as my dad is an avid supporter but I hope that Huddersfield do go up. Somehow I don't see it, though, but I think they'll go up given time. Nevertheless, well done on promotion - you thoroughly deserved it.

Terriers come out of this with a lot of respect. Great run which we had a struggle to match. Well done and good luck in the play-offs.
