Saints Awarded Another Sky Opening Day Slot.

Saints Awarded Another Sky Opening Day Slot.

Having the cameras for the third year in a row is unusual but Leeds were also shown last season on day one.

Southampton have had a bad start to most seasons of late and both of the last two games failed to give us the win desired.

Two years ago we drew at home to Millwall and last season we managed to lose at home to Plymouth before they were eventually relegated.

Our new management and the players should be up for this competitive match as Leeds should not need much building up, being a club with a tremendous history.

For me this raises the ante even more. Leeds are a big strong side and will prove to be a good test to see how we might compete at this higher level.

It was only on the last day of the season that Simon Grayson saw his side fail narrowly to qualify for the Championship play-offs.

Definitely time for us to make a winning start to a season and I feel hopeful that this is what we may manage to do for a change.

Not to mention our record in front of the cameras is generally fairly awful.
