Southampton want permanent deal
Southampton want to make the deal for on-loan defender Jos Hooiveld a permanent one, as they open talks with Celtic.
Hooiveld's agent confirmed to BBC Radio Solent that the Championship league leaders have contacted the Scottish giants - and want to sign the Dutchman.
'Southampton and Celtic are talking about a permanent move for Jos,' agent Alex Kroes told Radio Solent.
The 29-year-old - who is on-loan until January, has played 12 times for the Saints, scoring three times, and has made a strong partnership with Jose Fonte in the heart of defence.
The Dutchman, who joined Celtic in January 2010 for £1.8 million from AIK Solna, has enjoyed his time in Hampshire - and he told BBC Radio Solent that he wants to stay at the club.
'I am here until January but I am very open to staying.
'I am really enjoying myself. The gaffer is pleased with me and I am very pleased to be here.'
