'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Saints Run Comes To An End

Overall the game was played with chances being made and scorned by our stars, but Blackpool accepted the gifts we handed them.

Not only that though as they improved dramatically after the first of their goals went in and could claim that they deserved a share of the spoils.

Losing Kelvin to injury has not been a problem before, but yesterday Bart looked a shadow of the keeper that we have seen beforehand.

Right from the off he was nervous and spilling a couple of chances seemed to unsettle him even more. His display was full of errors and he will have nightmares about that performance.

I still feel that he will come good and hope he will do so in the next game.

The team started brightly enough and looked as though they had the measure of Blackpool. It was no surprise then when we took the lead.

Blackpool's equaliser was down to poor defence and Bart could also have done a lot better. The ball being headed in from inside the six yard box with our beleaguered keeper nowhere.

That goal then turned the game on its head and from then on it was much more even.

Now that the run has ended we will perhaps have less pressure on the lads to perform. The record will stand for many years and hopefully we can get back to what we do best.

That is to play open attacking football and score lots of goals. We have hit a dip in form and I am hopeful that our manager will quickly get us back on song.

Generally the results went our way yesterday so some of the damage was restricted by events away from St Mary's.

Roll on Pompey.

You scummers must be nervous coming to Fratton Park with a keeper like that! Can 'Bart' handle the pressure of 'the' south coast derby within the louns den? Your form drops, are form betters... Perfect timing ;) Play Up Pompey!!!

Nice to see that you are feeling confident PompNut. Pity you are about to see us getting revenge and at yours.

True. My fear is not that we are playing Pompey as much as we need to turn our recent run of poor results round.
