Southampton Players Not For Sale
With the January transfer window soon to open, Nigel has previously stated that he will be looking to strengthen our current squad.
Alan Pardew the Newcastle manager is known to be interested in Rickie Lambert but Nigel has said that our main striker is not for sale.
Nigel is reported as having said, '"Rickie has been excellent for us and if we keep creating chances he will score."
With Rickie making, as well as scoring, goals it is no surprise to see his name linked with Premier clubs. He is a big strong man and he works hard for the team which adds to his value.
Talking about the possible attempts to prise a player or two away Nigel said, "I can understand why Premier League teams might be looking at our players but we would not welcome any interest.'
Good news for us fans and with the prospect of seeing us adding to the playing strength of our squad it can only help to heighten our mood of optimism.
