Saints pair could be on way out

Lee Holmes and Jonathan Forte could be the next players to leave Southampton.

Ryan Dickson was the first player to leave the Championship leaders this January transfer window when he joined League One side Yeovil Town.

And Saints boss Nigel Adkins admitted after the 2-1 win at Coventry on Saturday that Holmes and Forte could be on their way out.

'The January window`s here and Jonathan and Lee haven`t been figuring as much,' he said.

"We have just seen Ryan Dickson go out on loan to Yeovil and we might see some activity happen with the two lads there as well.'

Forte has been linked with League One side Walsall, and Holmes has struggled on the south coast with constant injuries.

Will not be at all surprised to see either depart this month. At least will open up a couple of places for either incoming players or the youth.

You're right - both will probably leave, but at least it might help speed up their replacement. Would be good to get someone new before Forest away on the 14th! Especially with Lambert out...

I wonder whether we will see any of our youngsters on the bench.
SFC Forever
It will be interesting to see who's on the bench on Saturday. I was particularly impressed with the introduction of Sam Hoskins in the 2nd half against Coventry. He looked stocky, quick and lively (exactly what we need up front). I would love to see him on the bench this Sat...

We did improve drastically once Sam appeared and that could be a good call.

One of Nigel's signings and already looks lost to us.
