Pearson to receive warm return

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is to receive a warm return when he brings his side to St. Mary's on Monday night.

Pearson left the south coast in 2008, despite many Saints fans disagreeing with his departure.

The Saints had a difficult season in the Championship that season and needed to beat Sheffield United at home to avoid relegation on the last day.

A brace from Stern John and a 3-2 win over the Blades ensured the Saints would be playing the following season in the Championship.

The result sparked a pitch invasion and Pearson was thought of as a hero.

Pearson was in charge of 14 games for the Hampshire side. He won three, lost four and drew seven.

But the Foxes manager will always be remembered for that famous victory on the last day to save the Saints.
