'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Southampton v Leicester

Southampton will be without Rickie Lambert for the last of his three games missed through suspension. He will be missed but Saints have managed to win both of the first two games that he has missed.

The opposition may have been poor but all you can do is beat the opposition in front of you. That said, Saints may have a plaer who can help us forget that we are our talisman short in tonight's match at home to Leicester City.

Yago Falque has come in on loan from Tottenham Hotspurs and he has already impressed our manager Nigel Adkins with his fitness levels and high skill abilities.

I feel confident that this young Spaniard will set the place alight when he steps onto the pitch. Be it at the start or from the bench, he has looked good when playing for Spurs in Europe and must surely have beneffited from that experience.

Leicester have Jermaine Beckford starting to fire bullets again after a long drought and could be dangerous having broken the ice last week with a hat-trick against Nottinham Forest in the FA Cup.

With West Ham overtaking us and going top this will be the first time in months where we will be playing catch-up.

Tonight we will be sending a message to the rest of the league. Win and we will be showing that the bus is back on course and will be on route to the Premiership.

Right now I can imagine fans of at least half a dozen teams hoping that we don't get a win tonight. Hope we disappoint them.

No Lallana tonight with Falque taking his place. Saints: Davis, Harding, A. Martin, Hooiveld, Fox, Cork, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Falqué, Guly, Connolly. Subs: Bialkowski, Richardson, Reeves, Holmes, De Ridder.
SFC Forever
Leicester City: Schmeichel, Peltier, St Ledger, Mills, Konchesky, Danns, Wellens, Dyer, Gallagher, Nugent, Beckford. Subs: Logan, Howard, Drinkwater, Kennedy, Delfouneso. No changes from Foxes last game.
SFC Forever
Poor shot from Connolly and Leicester go up other end for Nugent to score for Leicester.
SFC Forever
Matt Mills scores with a header to make it 0-2
SFC Forever
Southampton have been out played by Leicester and have probably had their worst defeat of the season as we haven't looked like the team that went to the top or anything like it.
SFC Forever
Terrible performance. It was worrying how little creativity we had without Adam Lallana. He needs to get fit ASAP. We have tough games coming up and we need to be at our best, otherwise we could slip down the table.
