'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Tadanari Lee Signs For Southampton

Lee has become one of the hottest properties in Asia and last season scored 15 goals in 32 appearances for Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the J League.

The 26 year-old forward signed on a two and a half year deal (with the option of a further year), even though several advances from top flight European sides were made to him, and he will be available immediately for selection.

Tadanari said, 'I am very excited to join Southampton, it has been a long process, but I am now looking forward to joining my teammates and playing football. I feel good and ready, so will await the call from the manager on when I can put on the red and white shirt.'

He added that he was made very welcome at the club and hoped that he would be able to show to the fans that he was always going to try his best and help push us up to the Premiership.

Nigel Adkins in turn said, 'I am delighted to have secured the signing of Tadanari Lee. He is an international forward and a player with immense talent, who will add to our striking options.'

'He has a good attitude about him and possesses quality in the final third that will complement our other forwards. I'm very much looking forward to seeing him produce for the team.'

He also felt that the striker would settle in quickly as he had been made so welcome by the players.

Hopefully we will be able to see him on Saturday in the Cup match at Millwall. All we can say is welcome to Southampton Tadanari and hopefully we can enjoy our bus trip together.
