Saints Under 21's Beat Reading Under 21's

Saints fell behind early on when a shot crept in at the near post past Jack Dovey. That was bad, but worse was to come as it was followed with a quickfire second when a squared cross was turned home from six yards out.

With Radhi Jaidi returning to play his first game for a long time thanks to his injury, it may have taken a while for Saints defence to come to grips with Reading's attack.

That they did and that they then turned the game on it's head says a lot about the strength of character that the team contains.

Martin Hunter's side pulled a goal back on the half hour mark when Alberto Seidi did well on the right before finding James Ward-Prowse who fired a strong shot into the goal from 12 yards.

Better was yet to come as Saints levelled after a well worked goal as Andy Robinson linked up with Lloyd Isgrove, and the winger supplied an inch perfect cross for SEIDI to finish smartly just before the break.

The second half was a tightly fought affair which was won by Joe Curtis after he had been put through by Omar Rowe who had come on as a substitute.

So in the end a good win but boy did the boys have to scrap for it in the end.
