'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Aaron Martin Scores First League Goal

The goal was well taken as he moved onto a Fox corner and it gave Saints some breathing space by doubling their lead to two goals to nil.

With the defence also managing to keep the Derby attack at bay it was a good afternoon all round for our youngster.

Aaron was a half time substitute for Jos Hooiveld who left the action as a precaution after giving Saints a first half lead, and his replacement revealed he was mentally prepared to get involved straight away.

Talking on Saints Player he said, 'It's always in the back of your mind, but the way I see it is if you're on the bench then you have to be ready to play no matter what.'

Aaron added that he thought that the team was back on course and that the game gave a clear warning to the rest of league as to that fact.

He also explained how he searched for his dad and best friend who were watching in the stands as he scored.

Happy am I now we are back in the groove. Beat Watford next and we will be flying.

I am not unhappy bro' but we did only beat a poor Derby side. Win next game and I may become less unsure.
