'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rickie Thanks His Teammates

Talking on Saints player he said how the team had had a get together recently where they had all agreed that they were disappointed with the low number of clean sheets gained so far this season.

Though injuries to our main center-backs has hindered our progress it was felt that we should have been able to collect more.

Needless to say we have since seen an improvement in this department with more clean sheets following.

Rickie said, 'I know that the lads recently got together and although they always target clean sheets, they felt frustrated that they hadn't kept as many as we'd hoped for, and since then we've kept a clean sheet in nearly every game.

'They've now got a figure in their heads because we know clean sheets win you games as long as you're scoring which we have done all season. If we continue to score and the defence keep playing like that then we'll go far, as I thought they were brilliant today.'

Rickie has surprised many critics by his continued success with goals coming regularly as in the last two seasons. Confounding these critics has given many of us Saints fans the belief that Rickie can continue this scoring feat in the Premiership supposing we make it there.

Rickie is the best in the league so I think the team should be thanking him.
