'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Best Moment Of My Life

Jose Fonte says his goal today and the promotion will go down as the greatest achievement of his career to date.

Grabbing our second goal of the day, effectively put the match fully in our control and meant Coventry were out of it to be honest, and Fonte was delighted with his contribution to the match, the season and of course the securing of our promotion and told saintsfc.

'It's a dream come true and the best moment of my life. We've worked hard for this, there has been a lot of pressure, but we delivered at the end. It was meant to be, this was our last game and it was at home. It was incredible and overwhelming to see all those fans.'

It was certainly the time to pick his first goal of the season, and wearing the armband after Hammond left the pitch was the icing on the cake.

'I tried all season to score but the goal didn't come. It's even more delightful that in the last game it was my moment, that's what matters and it's a massive honour to have led this team and been the captain. I am the most honoured player today.'

Fonte says he won't be thinking about the Premiership until the summer, and why.

'Now we party! We're delighted with this and we're going to enjoy it.'

I doubt he'll be alone in that.
