Sharp Aiming To Grab Premiership Chance

Sharp Aiming To Grab Premiership Chance

Billy Sharp has said the plan was always to get a chance in the Premier League and he's determined to make the most of his shot.

Speaking to saintsfc Sharp talked about his journey to the top division and he's belief that he can make an impact.

'I started in Division 2, went into Division 1 and then had three and a half good seasons in the Championship so I'm delighted to now have the opportunity to play at a higher level with a strong squad who believe in each other, and I'm sure we'll do well in the Premier League.'

Sharp adds it was always his aim to play in the Premier League, and he's delighted that he can now fulfil that ambition.

'The aim was to play in the Premier League at some stage in my career and hopefully I get that chance now because it's going to be a great challenge now to try and pit my wits against the best.' It's always been a dream, I'm thankful that Southampton signed me so I want to work now and repay that faith.'
