Chaplow Feels Vindicated

Chaplow Feels Vindicated

Richard Chaplow has said our double promotion has vindicated his decision to drop down to League 1 in order to join us.

Speaking to saintsfc Chaplow said he had never played in the third tier in his career until he initially joined us on loan, before moving permanently. But the decision to drop a level, has proven to be more than the right choice following our year on year success.

'It is satisfying. It was tough to come down into League One, and there was probably no other club in that league that I'd have signed for other than Southampton. I was confident of getting back in the Championship at the first time of asking, but to step up like this was beyond everyone's wildest expectations. It's lovely to get promotion, but to do it twice in two years is something special. I'm looking forward to next season, it should be a good one.'
