Saints Move A No Brainer For Jay

Jay Rodriguez has called his move to Southampton a no brainer after speaking to colleagues at the club and then listening to the vision we have.

Speaking to saintsfc prior to his debut for the club in the Memorial Cup, Rodriguez admitted he had spoken to Danny Fox and Jack Cork, and they both couldn't speak highly enough about the club, so once he visited and spoke to Nigel Adkins, there was no choice but to accept and embrace the move.

'It's been a great experience so far, there's a great atmosphere all round. It was a massive decision and I had time to think, and I'd like to think of it as a bit of a no brainer to come down here really.'

Jay also said that he believes moving to Southampton and playing at the top level will improve him personally as a player and help him meet his true potential.

'We've got a great bunch of strikers here and a great team to be fair. Every single player is of a high standard and you're going to improve by playing with them everyday.'

Opening the scoring against Arsenal last night will have certainly given him a boost as he looks to start the first game against Manchester City. Hopefully that was a sign of things to come!
