Adkins Pleased With Ajax Test

Adkins Pleased With Ajax Test

Nigel Adkins was delighted with our performance against Ajax, even though we lost, as he believes our application and effort during the game was fantastic.

Speaking to saintsfc Adkins was pleased to see us handle Ajax with their possession based style of play, and he was even more delighted with how we restricted them in attack - the goal coming from an error of our own.

'They were an outstanding test. We are delighted with all of the pre season games that we have got because we will probably find that we won't play any team that will keep the ball as well as them. We are pleased because they didn't create any chances, the goal they scored came through us presenting them with the chance, but they haven't cut us open. Being patient and disciplined is important, but then when we get the ball we have to keep it better, we gave the ball away far too cheaply at times and that is something that we will learn from. There are a lot of lessons that we can learn from.'
