Clyne Enjoys Home Debut

Nathaniel Clyne has said he was pleased to make his home bow against Ajax as it was nice to get out in front of the fans after his somewhat protracted move from Crystal Palace.

Speaking to saintsfc he said of his run out.

'I enjoyed it, it was nice to get a run out in front of the fans. We played against a tough opposition in Ajax, they kept the ball well so we found it difficult. For the first 20 minutes we were chasing them, but we composed ourselves and started to play. Unfortunately we didn't get the goal, but it was still a good performance.'

Of course, for Clyne it's all about fitness with him only having 70 minutes under his belt so far, and he says he's looking forward to staying on the pitch for longer in the next match so he can really kick on and be sharp and ready for the start of the season.
