Billy Feeling Sharp

Billy Feeling Sharp

Billy Sharp has said he can't wait till the season kicks off properly after taking his pre season goal tally to five against Bristol City.

Speaking to saintsfc Sharp said he didn't think he was actually going to get on the pitch last night until the injury to Jack Cork, and whilst it's not the way he wanted to get in, he'll take it.

'I didn't think I was coming on, unfortunately Corky got injured and I got a little ten minutes and I managed to get a goal. I'm feeling sharp, it's probably one of the best pre seasons I've had. I'm raring to go.'

As for his goal, he certainly didn't mind poaching it as he believes we deserved a draw for our efforts on the night.

'It was one of my type of goals given it was only a yard out! It was a good ball into the box and I knew Rickie was going to get his head on it, it was a great knock down so I had the simple task of putting it away.'
