Davis - We Can Hold Our Heads High

Kelvin Davis believes the Saints can hold their heads high and be proud of our performance against Manchester City, despite the disappointment of the result.

Speaking to saintsfc after the 3-2 defeat, the goalkeeper said.

'It's fantastic to be able to come off the pitch having thrown ourselves into the Premier League, it's a great learning curve. Yes we didn't get anything from the game, but we've shown that we can compete and we know what we need to be quicker on, and I know myself that I need to be quicker on certain things but it's great to not be drummed 5 nil. We've come off the pitch with our heads held high and we build for next week.'

Obviously the game was all the sweeter for Davis following his 16th minute penalty save, especially as it gave us more of a chance to try for points in the game.

Davis' disappointment comes from the scrappy nature of their goals though.

'I think the disappointing thing is, the better chances they had they didn't take yet they've scored from two scrappy goals from our perspective, and goals that we can defend better against - but there are a hell of a lot of positives to take.'
