'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jos - We Will Keep Learning

Jos Hooiveld has said that the team will keep improving with each and every game, and says there are again plenty of positives they can take from today's 2-0 loss.

Speaking to saintsfc Hooiveld believes that the Saints showed plenty of promise in today's game, we just fell foul of two clinical Wigan finishes.

'You think you're in control of the game, then one break and it's a goal. That is something we have to be very careful of and concentrate about As a unit, we have to make progress on that.'

It was all sweetness and light as Premiership football returned to St Mary's, and Jos was very honest about where we were found wanting today.

'Technically we didn't do enough. We were very sloppy in ball possession sometimes - we lost the ball in a lot of ways we shouldn't have, and that cost us the game. But this is the kind of club that doesn't panic easily, so it's a process. There are a lot of things we need to learn and be cleverer in. That will come with time.'
