Perfect Preparation For Villa

Perfect Preparation For Villa

Nigel Adkins has been delighted with the effort of the squad during training as we prepare to host the Villans.

Speaking to saintsfc Adkins said.

'It's been good as we've had an excellent week on the training ground. I think the players have applied themselves really well and there's been a great mentality. We were in on Sunday and debriefed the game, then drawn a line underneath Arsenal and we've trained very well this week in preparation for Aston Villa.'

As many have said our season really starts here after the fixtures we've had so far, and a point certainly isn't to be sniffed at if that's how the game finishes. Just get something tangible that we can work on.

You say the season starts here, but I definitely recall a 2-0 loss at home to Wigan a few weeks back...

A tough Wigan sandwiched in between the other fixtures we've had. Yup the season starts here.

Still early days Mike, being fair on another day you'd have put away the second and really left us with a mountain to climb, but we battled back well today. Same as the calls for Adkins head, give Lambert time and you'll see more Swansea's than now Everton and Saints.
