Rickie Lambert has hailed the impact of Gaston Ramirez in today's game, describing him as 'something special'.
Speaking to saintsfc following the win, Lambert said of Ramirez.
'He's some player isn't it? He's something special, and I thought that he, Ads and Puncheon made my job much easier today. Any team when a player like Gaston comes in is just going to be improved. He was excellent today.'
As for the game itself, Lambert added.
'It was a great feeling to get the three points. We equilised and then I think we just went up a few gears and I thought we could have scored more. All credit to the boys.'

However, narrow loses against United and City show we haven't had a torrid time. Don't read as much into Arsenal as you are, especially given you aren't reading too much into our victory. You've had two good performances, we've had four and should've had points on the table.
No disrespect was meant though, I mustn't have made myself clear enough in my comments. But it's been two years of relegation battles for you.
Cropped, that's all you need. Give Lambert the time to get his base right and then build on it and you'll be fine.
As you say yourself you have players new to the league but who are also new to the club, and our squad at the core are already drilled which your other seniors haven't been because of the change gaffer, so for a while even if results don't go our way the performance levels won't alter much, whereas you'll be a little bit more up and down until everybody beds in properly.
