Cork To Have Injury Assessed

Cork To Have Injury Assessed

Jack Cork will most likely undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury which forced him off in last night's game.

Speaking to saintsfc following the game, assistant manager Andy Crosby explained.

'We don't know at this moment, we think his studs got caught in the turf so he has come off and we will assess that.'

Coming off after 81 minutes in his return to first team action, it will be a blow if the injury turns out to be serious as Cork no doubt just wants to get his Premiership career really going.

Crosby also explained the reasons for other familiar faces missing from last night.

'Luke Shaw has been ill for the past few days and we can't risk him on the back of his illness. Unfortunately Tadanari Lee has got an elbow injury which might keep him out for a week or so, whilst Emmanuel Mayuka has hurt his ankle a little bit.'

Mayuka however, is expected back within a few days.
