Adkins On Ramirez & Clyne

Adkins On Ramirez & Clyne

Nigel Adkins has talked about the injuries to Gaston Ramirez and Nathaniel Clyne and he believes the team suffered for their losses against Fulham.

Speaking to saintsfc about Fulham Adkins said.

'We targeted the Fulham game as one to go and win, and in that game we didn't have Gaston or Nathaniel, two players that we've invested in in the summer. You've seen the signs in how Gaston has performed that he's going to really excite our supporters by creating and scoring goals, so it was disappointing that he wasn't available for us last time in a game we were looking to win.'

Adkins explains in more detail that the problem with his dead leg was that the blood had nowhere to go, so the muscle blew up, but that has all settled now and the issue is a tear in the muscle that has to be repaired.

As for Nathaniel Clyne, he added.

'Clyne has trained for the last two days so we're optimistic that he's going to be available for the game against West Ham.'

As for another absentee, Tadanari Lee, he said.

'Tadanari is close, we'd like to think that he'll be in a better position by the end of next week. We've got the Leeds cup game coming up which would be a good opportunity for him to be involved.'
