Captain Experience Is Still A Thrill

Captain Experience Is Still A Thrill

Adam Lallana has said our recent results haven't dampened his spirits after being made captain.

Speaking to saintsfc the 24 year old said he is continuing to rise to the challenge, and our results if anything, are driving him on further to try and set an example and the lead the team to victory.

'I take it in my stride. This is my first season as captain so I don't really know what to expect. We have had a tough start, but I'm trying to embrace it and enjoy it. Maybe I've had to grow up a bit quicker, being captain you've got to be a role model. I feel we've got quite a few experienced lads in the dressing room, so they help me out. I'm just proud to be the captain and to have been given that responsibility.'

With the upcoming game against WBA on Monday, Lallana knows we need to start picking up points to get our confidence going again.

'We're not where we want to be, and we all know that. We need to start climbing the table and gathering points, and that starts on Monday. We've been concentrating on the basics because a good away performance could change your form around.'
