Puncheon - Points Better Than Goal

Puncheon - Points Better Than Goal

Jason Puncheon has said he's more delighted with the three points today than he was with a goal against his former club.

Speaking to saintsfc following the win, Puncheon said.

'It's always good to get one against a former club, but the most important thing was getting three points. That's what we did, so it was good. We got on the front foot and did what we've been doing in recent weeks. I thought we were solid, and that showed.'

Following some narrow defeats, Puncheon said that confidence was high in the dressing room ahead of the game because they know they are better than what our league position indicates.

'As a group we've always known that we shouldn't be where we are. There are games that haven't gone our way and games that have slipped through our hands, but today we were determined not to do that and that happened. It's a good feeling, and it'll be a good feeling tonight and tomorrow until we come back into training next week.'

A much needed three points to keep us close to those ahead of us at the moment, a great confidence boost and hopefully a fair bit of weight lifted from everybody's shoulders.
