Positives Despite Defeat

Saints' four match unbeaten run may be over, but Nigel Adkins has said he saw positives in the game against Liverpool.

Speaking to saintsfc after the one nil loss, Adkins said we did all we could to gain a point from the game with a much improved second half performance.

'We've come away from home and we're leaving with a 1-0 scoreline against us but we've managed to stay in the game and give ourselves an opportunity especially towards the end. It's a shame about the goal we've conceded at half time, you always think you can do better than that, but I think great credit to the players because we stayed in the game. The lads are growing all the time in confidence, and we're on a good run at this moment in time. I thought the referee might have given us something, but I'm not going to go down that line. There's positives that we will take from it, believe you me.'

Was always going to be a tight game today, just a shame we couldn't have snatched the point at the end.
