Adkins - Flat Performance & Not Good Enough

Adkins - Flat Performance & Not Good Enough

Nigel Adkins is not a happy man tonight after seeing an uncharacteristically flat performance from us on home soil today.

Speaking to saintsfc after the game, Adkins said.

'It just didn't happen for us today. It was uncharacteristically flat from us, and unfortunately we didn't score any goal. We've not gone and done it. For me, we didn't get the flow that we normally do, and we didn't get as many crosses in which is something that we highlighted before the game.'

Adam Lallana is obviously a big player for us, but Adkins said that simply cannot be used as an excuse.

'It can't be about one player. Every team is going to have players that are missing so you've got to have a strong enough group. We can't just turn around and go we've lost because of one player, we've lost the game because of the result.'
