'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adkins - A Good Away Point

Nigel Adkins can be forgiven for being a tad disappointed at the end of the game given the scoreline at halftime, but nontheless he was pleased with a good away point.

Speaking to saintsfc following the match, Adkins said.

'I thought we did fantastically well, we have come away from home where there is a notoriously noisy home support and our fans could be heard all around the stadium. We scored three very good goals and they have only conceded four here all season. I thought we dominated in the first half and I was really pleased, we started ok in the second half and we had the chance to go four up. We knew we would have to defend. Manfully the players have done their jobs today and it has taken a wonder goal for them to get the equiliser.'

Fair enough comment though he did hide his disappointment quite well.

It was a game I'd have taken a point from, but there's no doubting that was some goal to share the spoils. Another good point today and if we can make the most of our game in hand we could open up a nice gap at the bottom now.
