Who Will Leave Southampton This Month?

Who Will Leave Southampton This Month?

Currently we have a squad of 29 with several of the players being under 21 years old. Of the older brigade we have some fringe players that are unlikely to ever get a start in the first team unless we have a catastrophic injury list appear.

Of those players who do feel feel should be helped on their way out of the club to pastures new? Of those who have been getting game time who would you like to see leave?

Everybody knows that we have had serious problems finding a goalkeeper good enough for the Premiership. Hopefully Artur Boruc will prove to be that man.

Our defence has strengthened as the season has gone by and now looks much more solid. This leaves us with the likes of Danny Butterfield who I feel would be served moving on to a lower level.

In midfield we have the likes of Richard Chaplow who is another who did us proud but is extremely unlikely to get a game. I feel he also should be moved on as surplus to requirements.

Up front we have Lee Barnard who did well for us but is unlikely to get a go in the first team and is not a squad member. He needs to find another club to help his career.

Likewise Jonathon Forte and Ryan Dickson, two more who are unlikely to ever get a game. Danny Seaborne and Aaron Martin are also probably on their way out of the door soon.

So out of all of the players we have who do you feel should be shown the door asap? Who have we got that could help a lower league club rather than just stick around?

Without checking Martin is out for the season on loan with Palace, not sure he's got much match time so far. Sensible names you've mentioned though, might be more of a case of who do we strengthen with first before letting some go just in case the cover is needed further down the line.

Martin played a couple and now can't get near the Palace team. Their fans don't rate him much neither. Think Puncheon only got 6 months left so if he don't want to sign new deal get rid.

There's talk of Punch being offered a new contract, but I'm not sure if anything concrete has been put in motion yet. He is able to talk to foreign clubs now I believe though from something I read.

Cheers for the Martin update as well, was hoping he'd get a good run there to see how he could push on.

I feel sorry for the lad. Showed promise without really doing enough to clinch more game time. Maybe he will get there one day.

Back from Palace now. Must be another loan on the plan really.
