Cork Relishing Chelsea Return

Jack Cork has said he's delighted he now has the chance to face Chelsea having spent over a decade at the club as a lad.

Speaking to saintsfc ahead of the FA Cup tie, Cork said.

'I'm just looking forward to playing against them really as I never got the opportunity to play with them whilst I was there. I'd love to play, it's a shame it's not at Stamford Bridge, hopefully the gaffer will pick me.'

Cork has no real regrets from his time at Chelsea and harbours no ill will despite not making a competitive appearance, he just looks on it as a very good place for him to have learnt and developed given the players who surrounded him on the training pitch.

'One of the main things that sticks in my head was Didier Drogba pulling me aside and giving me advice on how to play against him and bigger players, so just having people around like that who have done so much in the game was great and has been invaluable to me. They're players you can look up to as great professionals so it was good to be in and around them.'

Talking about Drogba in that way shows great respect for him, but also shows how influential senior players can be to youngsters learning their trade.

It is quite possible that Demba Ba could make his first start for the blues.
SFC Forever
Cycle isn't it, passing down the knowledge and experience, and in turn then passing it on to youngsters when you are considered the senior.

Rafa has confirmed I believe that if the paperwork all goes through, Ba will be in the squad at least from what I've just read. Hopefully it'll be a debut to remember for all the wrong reasons if he does start.

Go along with that. Not lookin forward to this after they got beat against QPR. May be only thing left in their sights now
sfc4ghg
They'll be out for a response that's for sure, but I can't believe how Rafa changed the team around for QPR Too cocky or a sign of how seriously he's taking the Cup?
Vital Saint
Reckon it's the first and how he paid. Beat them this weekend an he will not be very popular.
sfc4ghg
If not sure he's that popular anyway given how Vital Chelsea welcomed him to the club :-)
Vital Saint
Didn't help with the comments he made about Chelsea while at Liverpool. Perhaps we could help our friendly Blues fans get rid of him by winning. Or is that asking for too much. :)
SFC Forever
Going back to Jack I hope he plays a blinder against his old club.
SFC Forever
He ain't gonna be able to do it on his own so hoping whoever gets the nod steps up to the plate for us. Maybe a special from would cheer us all up.
sfc4ghg
From who though ghg? One from a unit would be extra special. Even one from Artur Boruc. That maybe the best of all.
SFC Forever
One thing you can guarantee, if Cork does play he's bound to fire everybody else up to give their all. If that isn't good enough that's fair enough really, but he won't go down without a fight I think. If Adkins goes for a fringe players, they will do themselves the world of good by putting in the determination alone.

This game is actually getting the adrenalin flowing. Feel that this could be a good game to watch.
