'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chelsea Was A Lesson

James Ward-Prowse has said that Chelsea showed their class today, but it's a learning curve for the players and they'll take the positives from the match.

Speaking to saintsfc the young midfielder said.

'I think they proved why they won the competition last year, why they are where they are in the league and why they are European champions. We contained them quite well in the first half and Jay took a great goal, but the two goals before half time killed us. Our main priority is the league, so we'll draw a line under it and get going again.'

As for what he can take from the game, he added.

'It was a massive confidence boost to be playing again. We were playing against international players and World Cup winners, so that was a great challenge and something I embrace. I've learned a lot of lessons, both individually and collectively as a team. It will make me a better player for sure.'

That is heart warming and cheers me up after the game. As bad as it was J W-P is right though in saying that we were taught some sharp lessons. I am hopeful that the one or two we bring in will further strengthen this belief.

What else could he say? Could hardly say "we were crap".

Sometimes you just have to take the learning curve don't you. Get in front of the widescreen with the coaches and see what he can improve on.

Chelsea fans like him and saw something even after that mauling.

Think you are mixing up James with Luke, aren't you?

I did read something about the Chelsea fans taking a shine to Shaw, I think?
