Saints Suits Me - Shaw

Luke Shaw has explained the reasoning behind his decision to sign a long term contract at the club, regardless of the speculation surrounding a possible move to Chelsea or Arsenal.

Speaking to saintsfc after the extension was announced, Shaw said.

'I have spoken with the chairman about a long term plan for me at the Club. To put an end to all the speculation, I will be committing my future to Southampton. I'm not going anywhere. I think Southampton is the place to be for young kids like me. I'm playing in the Premier League for the first team and that is all anyone wants to be doing, so I just want to carry on.'

Fantastic news for the club to be honest, and should allow Luke to continue his development without all the press nonsense.

Stay grounded, keep sensible, establish yourself and the rewards will come. Jump too quickly to a club that won't value him as Adkins does and he could stall.
