Adkins Looking For Some Cup Revenge

Adkins Looking For Some Cup Revenge

Nigel Adkins has challenged the players to go out and get some revenge against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Speaking to saintsfc Adkins believes we can take confidence from Chelsea losing their last two midweek games on home soil, and knowing the team will be up for some revenge after the disappointing cup showing, it could be the perfect time for us to pull off a little shock.

'We're in a good run of form so whoever we play we're going to believe that we've got an opportunity to get something from the game. Obviously, we played them not so long ago in the cup and that gives us an insight, we know they're a good side, and the last two Wednesdays at home, they've lost, and they're expected to win their games at home. What we've got to do is go there with the belief that we can get three points and if not then we come away with one.'

The game comes too early again for Lallana and Fonte, although Adkins adds that Fonte is making good progress. Luke Shaw could again be in contention though, although the gaffer will no doubt make that decision closer to the game.

Good news that Luke might be able to play. I love our manager.

I somehow doubt Nigel will risk Luke unless he feels he has no choice. Hope we don't look too bad tonight though I feel we could play well and surprise a few.

Two days two different thoughts. Unless you really feel that playing Luke would be a mistake.
