The Football Supporters` Federation Score Campaign

The Football Supporters` Federation Score Campaign

At the weekend news broke that Manchester City had returned 900 tickets after fans refused to pay £62 to watch their team play at Arsenal on Sunday. As FSF Chair Malcolm Clarke put it, "Football isn't immune from the economic situation and just because City have a lot of money it doesn`t mean their supporters have."

Recently we have seen many groups across the country begin campaigning to have prices reduced for away fans. It shows how hard the ticket prices are hurting when fans from different clubs are joining together and forgetting their traditional rivalries.

The Football Supporters` Federation is now asking fans to join them as they campaign to have prices brought down to a more reasonable level.

With mounting pressure on them, the Premier League is reported to be looking at forming an away fans fund. Their proposal is for fares costs to be met by the League to help reduce costs.

The Football Federation - will launch the Score Campaign: Twenty`s Plenty for Away Tickets in central Manchester on Thursday 24th January (7pm). The event is free and open to fans of ALL clubs - we want to see you there. This is the first in a series of nationwide meetings to be announced, including one in London on Thursday 31st January (venue TBC).

I feel this is a valuable aid in the fight against spiraling ticket prices.
