Welcome To Southampton Mauricio Pochettino

Welcome To Southampton Mauricio Pochettino

He was a quality centre back and played 20 times for his country including the 2002 FIFA World Cup,

His first managerial role was with Espanyol and he was there from January 2009 until November 2012. Looking at his record he won 53 out of 161 games which is a win average of 32.92%

Nicola Cortese said on Saints Player, "This decision has been made with the long-term ambitions of Southampton Football Club in mind. Whilst we acknowledge the contribution Nigel has made during the past two years, for the Club to progress and achieve our long-term targets a change was needed.

"Mauricio is a well-respected coach of substantial quality who has gained a reputation as an astute tactician and excellent man manager. I have every confidence that he will inspire our talented squad of players to perform at the highest possible level.

Surprised as we are by this decision we are fans of Southampton Football Club and must stick with the team which means showing our support to the new manager.

Looks like your club is still run by Muppets... unless the long term target of the board is relegation and a long stay in the Championship. Adkins has brought respect back to your club and he gets 5hit3 upon.

We have no choice but to hope that Nicola knows what he is doing.

I've seen where he says he's been "I know about the squad because I've been researching them for several weeks.'' - Let's hope it's not just been via FIFA 13!

I am wondering how long he has known he is getting the job.

I really hope that MP has broad shoulders because we will let the whole world know we love Nigel.

Does sound very planned doesn't it. Just ridiculous timing with the improvement in our form and results.

There should be a lot of chanting for Nigel against Everton I would think. Would also think the Argentinian will expect it.

His knowledge of the Premier League is talking to his mate Jose Mourhinho and he doesn't speak any English. What a move by the Southampton board.

There are a lot have been talking about giving up. Unless this new guy can work miracles we could be in a spot of bother.
