Saints We Need You To Say - Thanks Nigel

Nigel Adkins did a fantastic job for Saints, leading the club from the lower reaches of Division one to 15th in the Premier League. He did so with a ready smile and a positivity that quickly helped us fans learn to love.

Circumstances that were remarkably similar to the removal of Alan Pardew although Nigel wasn't brought in immediately. Alan was also immediately removed from any Saints distributions and like Nigel no thanks were offered publicly for his part in beginning Saints' revival.

A lot has been said about the manner of Nigel's removal and we will probably never know the full reasoning for the move to be made.

However a lot of the sniping that is being heard would cease immediately if Nicola would only make a statement to the press or simply put something into a match programme giving thanks for his 2.5 years of dedicated work.

So come on Nicola, show us that you are the bigger man, and give us fans a proper send off to the man we grew to love.

Don't believe it would happen but would be the ideal scenario if our leader could say a word in acknowledgement of the job Nigel did. A pay-off is not the be all and end all for us fans.

Nigel has gone, now move on.

It's about respect and acknowledgement. Whether it's NC directly or just a club spokesman, there should've been something thanking Nige for his work and efforts at the club. You can't buy class, but you can certainly lose by acting ignorant.
