Lucas Biglia & Joan Verdu On Poch's Hitlist?

It's being reported that Mauricio Pochettino is interested in Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia and his former player Joan Verdu.

Sky Sports 'understands' again that Southampton will join the race for Biglia, who has already been linked with several in the league like Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham and Newcastle but with Pochettino now in our hotseat, they say it could tempt Biglia to link up with his compatriot.

The player Sky say has unfortunately been on strike in an effort to force a move from the club, which personally, if true, I don't like. Players sign a contract in good faith and it should be honoured - they do also say though that he's expected back in training this week, where more discussions over his future will take place.

The report also says that Poch will go back to Espanyol for midfielder Joan Verdu who only has 6 months left on his current contract.

I have been wondering how long before we began to see links like these appear. Biglia may be the best option but as you say striking is not a good sign.

Espanyol links were bound to come up weren't they, but in some ways you would expect him to make a move for one or two players who know him well to help give him some weight in the dressing room. Biglia could be interesting, I honestly don't know much about him - or Verdu for that matter - but going on strike worries me with players. You always want them to give their all, and again not knowing the details, it smacks of disrespect to the fans to me. But maybe need more details on why he took the action he did before speculating further.
