'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pochetino Looks To La Liga For Recruits

In a one-on-one interview with Revista de la Liga's Guillem Balague , former Espanyol manager Pochettino outlined his vision for the club.

'What attracted me was the structure I was presented with when I spoke to the club,' he said. 'Also, I wanted to work with young players; Southampton has the youngest squad in the Premier League.'

'I like the idea of developing young talent and working with the coaching staff at the formative level. It strikes me as an ambitious project, a project with a view to the future.'

Mauricio explained that Spain is a market that he knows better than any other and which is rich with talent. He also said that the young players at Southampton would be given the chance to develop and prove their worth.

So I for one will not be surprised to see a player or two arrive from La Liga.

Must have a few names that he fancies and maybe we will see a couple join us.

If they are better so be it. We need to improve.

He's going to have joined doing his homework - which we know - so he's bound to have a few ideas where he thinks we are weak in or could do with additional options to spice things up a bit. If Forren wasn't a pick for him, I'd expect maybe at least two more in this window.

Boruc looks like he has come good so a CB and a WM would be good.

Wonder if we could still get Davide Astori?

pochettino has said that he won't take any players from his old club Espanyol.
