'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Forren Looking For Perfect Debut

Vegard Forren has said his focus since joining the club was to work his way into Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the game at Old Trafford.

Speaking to saintsfc earlier today, our new defender said.

'To play on Wednesday would be the biggest dream ever. I'll fight for that and train hard, then we'll see if I'm in the squad. To make my debut at Old Trafford would be perfect, but I'm patient because I know it's hard to just come here. You have to show that you're good enough, so I'll train hard and get my chance when I'm ready.'

Desire, but also level headed. Nice to read.

Forren adds he knew there was interest in him for a while, but he knew he had to wait for the right chance to come along to get into the Premier League, and Southampton were that perfect chance.

'Southampton felt like the right club for me, and the plans fit me well in terms of the way the club wants to play football. It's a team that is on its way up and a team that wants to play football. After my chat with Nicola there was no doubt for me about the plans he has for this club in the future. The opportunity to be a part of that is hard to say no to.'

If Forren gets his wish I really hope that he knows what to expect. It can be taken as read that United will exert tremendous pressure on him looking for a weakness.

Be one hell of a gamble putting Forren into the starting line-up as he hasn't played for a few weeks.
