Fergie Praises Super Saints

Fergie Praises Super Saints

Southampton played well for the majority of the game but the second half was one which showed that the team is well capable of picking up enough points for safety.

After the game Sir Alex Ferguson told the media, "In the second half Southampton produced the best performance anyone has done here this season.

"They pushed right on top of us and didn`t give us time to settle.

"But my experience of this club, when you are going for championships, is that there are always games where you can say we were a bit lucky.

"This was one of those nights."

Nice words but at the end of they day they mean nothing if our team can't replicate the performance on Saturday with a goal or two added to bring home the bacon.

Thanks for the words Fergie but I would have preferred a point or two.

Easy to say when his side won. Would he have said the same if we had scored again?

That we shall never know but it is still nice for him to admit we played well and gave his team a real fright.
