'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Has Nicola Found Saints A 24 Carat Gem

Against Everton we saw our team continue with the same formation that Nigel had used. New manager Mauricio Pochettino watched as his new team played their hearts out and earn a well deserved point.

Wednesday evening though was a different story. At half time we made it to the break trailing by 2 goals to 1 and looking like a valiant team of triers that were destined for defeat.

The team came out and immediately changed the tempo of the game by going on an all out attack which came so close to success. The only ingredient missing from our total domination was a goal.

Why the change? I believe the change came from a double substitution. Adam Lallana and Steve Davis coming on and a little tampering with the formation suddenly changed us into a properly functioning outfit.

Mp proved that he can change things when necessary and he clearly appears to have the team with him already. so as bad as we felt losing Nigel, have we in fact found us a gem that can achieve the dream that our chairman has spoken about?

Man of the hour and hopefully our man of decade. He has shown that he can change things but my only reservation would be that we did have a match winner to fall back on.

Bit early to say that he is what we need but ok start.

I agree it is early but so far the signs have looked good. VSrnw you can't seriously have thought we would so well at United surely.

Brave move by Poch, and justified. Love Adkins ut at least Poch is doing what we wanted him to. Stella don't quite agree, remember earlier in the season when we went at teams under Adkins like we did against United. It tells me Poch can get exactly what Nige did, and that pleases me.
