Wigan Is A Massive Game

Wigan Is A Massive Game

Nathaniel Clyne has said everybody at Southampton knows exactly how important victory over Wigan would be for us with how the teams are placed in the league.

Speaking to saintsfc ahead of the game, our right back said nobody would be underestimating what three points would do for us.

'It's a massive game for both sides as unfortunately we are both down there at the wrong end of the table fighting for points. We have been doing well though, and picked up some good points along the way. I'm sure if we put in another performance like that (United) then we can go to Wigan and do well. Confidence is high, we are a good bunch of lads, and we all believe in the ability of the players we have here. Things are a bit tight down at the bottom, but a win on Saturday will make things comfortable with a bit of a gap in between us and the other teams. We won't get ahead of ourselves, but hopefully we can get a result.'

Would be a massive three points and help us open a gap, and if we do play like we did against United there's no reason we can't come out with a victory.

With Man City to follow it is a big game as a win will give us a little breathing space.

It is a big game but still only worth three points. A win will show that we have maintained our recent improvement.
