Saints Nearing Full Strength - Who Plays

Saints Nearing Full Strength - Who Plays

Before some of our star players picked up injuries we more or less knew the starting eleven week on week : Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw, Puncheon, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Ramirez, Lambert.

We would have the occasional tweak but generally we would expect that line-up as other players were not deemed as being as good.

Now things look so different. Hooiveld has come in and done the job well for us though looking shaky at times. Steven Davis has come in and exceeded by far all of our expectations. He compliments Cork and Schneiderlin perfectly and has definitely earned his place.

Added to that Fox has done a lot better than we had thought him capable. Rodriguez is also able to say he has played well and certainly adds to our front-line with both attacking ability and his defensive work.

Adding to all that will be new arrival Vegard Forren, who comes with a high reputation and will be a fit to bursting for a chance to show his worth.

Times like this make me glad I am not our manager. Who do you think will be our main eleven now that we are back at full strength.

Surely we have to keep the same team for the next match.

We need our best defence so bring in Shaw and Keep same midfield unless Fonte is really ready.

Bring Shaw back and keep midfield strong with our three main runners and tacklers.

Got to go with merit and the winning team haven't you. Make sure the first XI earn their place every game, will help keep those not involved happy as well as they'll see 'favourites' won't just come straight back in.
