Lallana Bags 5 Year Deal

Lallana Bags 5 Year Deal

Adam Lallana has become the latest Saint to pledge his future to the club, putting pen to paper on a five year deal tonight.

His new deal will keep him at the club until the summer of 2018, meaning his association with Southampton will stretch to 12 years having graduated from the Academy in 2006.

The 25 year old told saintsfc after signing the deal.

'I'm absolutely delighted. To commit my future to the club for the next five years is something I'm really happy about. I can't wait to work with the team to continue our progress in the Premier League. It was an easy decision for me with the direction the club is going in. I've been at the club since I was 12 and - being honest - I can only see my future lying with Southampton.'

Fantastic news and I'd imagine many a Saints fan has raised a glass tonight with Adam becoming one of a number to sign extended contracts lately.

Mauricio Pochettino was himself delighted to see Adam sign on.

'We are very pleased that Adam has signed a new five year deal. In everything that he does and says, we can tell he is at home here. He is not only important because of how he plays, but also with his behaviour off the pitch and how he transmits to other players. Even though he is still young, he is a great example to others.'
