Ready For Big Battle

Ready For Big Battle

Mauricio Pochettino has said that he believes the players are ready for the big battle we'll face against Sunderland.

Speaking to saintsfc ahead of the game, Pochettino said that the players were more than aware a victory would secure our Premiership status.

'They've reacted well (to Spurs). They're aware that they performed a lot better than in the game against West Bromwich, and we've trained well, prepared well for the game and we're in the right state of mind mentally to play this weekend.'

Pochettino admits it's a huge game for both parties as Sunderland need the points just as much as we do.

As for team selections, Emmanuel Mayuka was granted compassionate leave to return to Zambia earlier in the week following the death of his father, and the club will assess him on his return.

There are also doubts about Morgan Schneiderlin and Maya Yoshida.

Have a feeling that Sunderland will throw everything they have at us from the start.
