Saints Fans Thanked By Club

Having swept through Division One and the Championship as we climbed swiftly back to the top table it came as no surprise to us that this season would be a heck of a lot more difficult.

After a terrible opening 10 games we were sat at the bottom end of the table with a mere four points. Many would have been forgiven if the thought of an immediate return back down to the Championship had crossed their minds.

Our fans stayed strong and continued to voice their support and slowly we saw our fortunes rise. We began to climb towards safety and the support remained solid.

Overall our support has been fantastic and our away support unbelievable. Saints fc have now openly come out and thanked the fans for their inspirational vocal support.

In a statement on the Saints OS they said, Southampton Football Club would like to thank our fans for their excellent support during yesterday's final game of the season and throughout the 2012-13 campaign.'

Practically every home supporter stayed behind after seeing Saints draw with Stoke City to watch as the players took part in a lap of appreciation around the St Mary's pitch.

In another touching move a load of t-shirts were also thrown into the crowd as players and staff did a lap of honour.
