The First Of Many For Southampton

The First Of Many For Southampton

Morgan Schneiderlin has said this season can be the first of many as Southampton look to improve further over the summer.

Now that the curtain has come down on the season and players and fans alike can assess strengths, weaknesses and all the other factors we mull over without matchdays to take our focus, Schneiderlin has taken the chance to have a little look back at his first Premiership campaign, and a good luck forward to what he hopes are many more seasons in the top flight.

Speaking to saintsfc the midfielder said of our 14th place league finish, and his own finish as the form player in the league for interceptions and tackles.

'It was an amazing season. As a group, we wanted to show everyone that we have a place in the Premier League. I think that, especially with the people we've played in the second half of the season, we have showed that we deserve to be here for a long time. Hopefully we can come back stronger next year and have an even better season.'

Schneiderlin also added that with the recent Nicola Cortese issues, it showed to him, that everyone within the club were pulling in exactly the same direction in terms of pushing Southampton forward and keeping everyone on the same page in terms of the ethos and attitude to grow.
